The Citizen Advocacy Study Group is pleased to announce that our next gathering is being planned.
The primary purpose of the Citizen Advocacy Study Group (CASG) is to gain, deepen, and sharpen, our understanding of the concept and practice of Citizen Advocacy. We offer a diverse agenda of topics that focus on the key features of the Citizen Advocacy Model. The intention is that the learning environment will help us to hone the way we make and support many successful Citizen Advocacy relationships. The CASG comprises well-motivated people already involved in, or interested in Citizen Advocacy, and who genuinely want to learn more and deepen their understanding of Citizen Advocacy. This is a true Study Group and as such, we do not discuss other things such as funding, the NDIS, government policy, etc. regardless of how important those other things might be at the time.
If you are interested in attending and are not yet a member, why not submit an Expression of Interest to attend as a guest? This gives you a no-obligation opportunity to come along, meet like-minded people, and to see if the CASG is for you. Hit the Expression of Interest button below and complete and submit the form. We’ll get back to you within a matter of days!
If you find that you like the CASG format, you can then apply to become a member. Membership provides access to all the audio and video recordings available from previous gatherings, including handouts and related articles. This is an enduring and fabulous resource that will never become obsolete. It’s a treasure trove for anyone new to Citizen Advocacy, or staff and board members seeking a firm orientation to effective Citizen Advocacy practice. The main requirement for members is simply that you must seriously want to learn about effective Citizen Advocacy practice.
Hope to see you there!
At the Advancing Citizen Advocacy Conference, held in Melbourne Australia, 2023, Jenny Smith gave an excellent overview of the study group, and its goals in her presentation.
